Mr. Shaw expressed his ape new building preciation housing the high schools technical and vocational programs. He said a study was made which indicated 80 per cent of the high school graduates start college but only 20 per cent graduate from college. This indicates, Mr. Shaw pointed out, that many students entering college may be better suited for vocational training. This study, continued Mr. Shaw, showed 20 per cent as the national average for unemploy lent in the 18 to 20 age gn. p of young men. Ord was a registered pharmacist for more than 50 years, and was engaged in business here also for more than 50 years. He was employed as a druggist by the Lunt Pharmacy, later becoming a partner in Ord and Mangelson Drug Company, operating the store in conjunction with H. L. Mangelson until some six years ago. He was a charter member of the Kiwanis Club of Nephi and was a member of the club for many years. A High Priest in the Nephi Third Ward, Mr. Ord had fulfilled a mission to the Southern States from 1906 to 1908, and later served two missions in Juab Stake. Mr. Ord was a member of a local band for many years. Bom at Nephi, June 9, 1882, he was son of Thomas George and Alice Eliza Hunt Ord. He married Loretta Russell Sept 12, 1906 at the Manti Temple Mrs Ord died January 9, 1963 Surviving are seven sons and daughters: Mrs Leo (Mildred) Ingram of Nephi; R Vincent Ord, Bountiful, Mrs Hamer (Alice) Thornton and Merle Ord, both of Colton, California; Dr. John Ord, Provo; Mrs. Albert (Neida) Haney of Warden, Washington; Mrs. Melvin (Ruth) Beck of Nyssa, OreAlso surviving are 32 gon. grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; a brother and two sisters: Thomas Ord, Mrs Thomas Hodge and Mrs. Louie Odell, all of Los Angeles.
