It is 7,000 feet from the nearest water and sewer lines to our property on the south interchange. The power line is also some distance away. After numerous ' meetings with the city council and the water and power board, we have failed to come up with a way to get utilities to the south interchange. The city wants the property owners to pay the total bill to put utilities to the property. If the property owners tried to absorb the entire bill, it just would run the costs of building too high. The property owners feel the city should help with the utilities because of the large amount of taxes and profits from the utilities the city would oeive. As of yet, the city council wont even compromise to the point of letting the property owners buy the pipe through them to save the 5.5 percent sales tax. Most cities are trying to attract businesses for tax base and additional employment. There are already several million dollars committed to being spent at the south inter Foundation analysts indicate that the proposed solution to e corrections probthe include constructing addilem tional prison facilities and or long-rang- providing for alternative in- sentencing and selective carceration of the most dangerous inmates.
