Jones was told he would be contacted in the near future for his approval and the commission urged him to be present when the equipment worked so that he could supervise what he wished accomplished there. ficials. The hen advertises, so we all eat chicken eggs. I hope the new signs say restrooms. As I walk Main Street each morning (five years now), I see lots of restrooms without wash basins: sides of buildings, trucks, cars, trees, etc. You know, everybody needs and enjoys a good, clean restroom. You have seen the photo of the beautiful street with lots of red fire hydrants. The little dog looked down the street and said decisions, decisions, decisions. May I suggest the old fire station on Center Street be used for this purpose, with signs directing the tourist to it. Its in the center of town. The restrooms at the city park are hidden from those traveling the highway. Fillmore has a nice rest area with parking, restrooms, lawn, etc. It is appreciated by all who use it. We need a nice, complete rest area in our city. J.R. Greenhalgh assessed for its highest and best use, however individual problems could be dealt with if residents would come to the board of equalization hearings and present their problems for individual consideration. This is a statewide problem this year, Garrett said, and areas like Utah county will probably have a difficult time giving any consideration to reducing taxes due to flooding because it would ruin their tax base. However, in Juab County we have not had such extensive damage and we will take a careful look at individual prob- lems if people come to those hearings and discuss them with us. met Timothy Bowers-Iron- s with the commission to discuss the status of his efforts to gain clearance to establish a radio station in the Nephi area. To date, the required studies have been completed and approved including an aeronautical survey which showed no effect on flights into and out of the Nephi aiifort if the 200-fohigh radio tower is located as proposed approximately one-hamile west of the airport. Bowers-Iron- s quoted local as saying the tower pilots would be an asset to pilots during storms for assistance in landings. The station, as proposed, will air music, news, and sports including local football and basketball games, and will have radius range with its a 5,000 watts of power. Programs will run strictly on a daytime basis and the studio will be located in the downtown area with linkage to the tower for broadcast purposes. Bowers-Iron- s also asked the commission what could be done about a concrete trough filled by debris from flooding on his land located southwest of Nephi by Spring Canyon. Since the trough partly blocks the road, it was agreed that the commission would see if it might be to the countys ad- -' vantage to remove the trough to widen the roadway and consider purchasing a removable ot lf 50-mi- le metal watering container to replace it. Bowers-Iron- s added that he wished to express his appreciation to the sheriff 8 department for the many checks they make on outlying areas such as his. A request was received from Don Yates on behalf of the Juab School Board asking that the commission make a determination as to whether or not the portion of road from 1 to the Allred homes located in North Juab County is a county road. After a review of the roads history by the commission and a verbal check with residents of the area, it was determined that the road will be considered part U-9- of the countys road system. Paul Stempin met with the commission. Stempin is a contractor employed by the Intermountain Power Project for the purpose of construcing a pole line that will connect with the new Utah Power and Light substation which is to be constructed on an e site west of Mona. A request by Stempin to use a road west of Nephi as an access route for his construction workers disclosed the fact that the road being disucssed was not a county road but the pole line road which lies further west. The commission informed 80-acr- Stempin that it will be necessary for him to contact private individuals that own, land along that road to gain per ' mission to use it. Approval was granted to Diane Park for the use of the community center of the county building for the purpose of holding dance classes. Mrs. Park requested 16 hours time per week, and promised to work her three day schedule around the Senior Citizens groups schedule. She will pay a fee of $100 per month for rental.
