If farmers are forced to use the Sheep Lane overpass, Paxman says, it would necessitate traveling many extra miles out of the way each time one of the farmers wants to reach his land. This would add more to the cost of farming in the area in addition to being an inconvenience. Paxman said that land in the area was going for about $500 an acre now, and that that was quite a bit to donate for the construction of a graveled road. That is a problem for us out there, he said.
