The accident happened at about 9 p.m. one mile south of Nephi on 5. . Four persons were seriously injured in the crash: Wiona W. Lange, 56, and Harry Lange, 61, both of Boulder City, Nev.; and Rachel D. Longson, 66, and Elmer R. Longson, 71, both of Salt Lake City. ' The Langes were both in good -- , south of Nephi condition at press time Wednesday at Mountain View Hospital in Payson. They both have multiple bruises and Mrs. Lange has a broken leg. The Longsons are patients at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, where they were listed in satisfactory condition late Wednesday. No report was readily available as to their injuries. According to Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Gary Taylor, the Longson car, a 1976 Chevrolet, was headed south, attempting to pass a long string of cars. Mrs. Longson, the driver, apparently lane got trapped in the and couldnt get back to the right.', She struck the 1978 Cadillac driven by Mrs. Lange head on. The East Juab County Ambulance Associations rescue van was called to the scene to extricate both drivers from their cars. All occupants of the two cars were taken to the Juab County Hospital. The Langes were then transferred to Payson and the Longsons were taken to Salt Lake City by the Lifeflight helicopter. The Longsons had two granddaughters with them, Tami Lynn Melius, 13, and Teresa McDaniels, 9. They had only superficial injuries Both cars were totaled.
