Christensen, Juab County Clerk, relative to filing dates for candidates in the coming election. Pursuant to Section Utah Code Annotated, 1963, as amended in 1963, the following information is listed: During the month of March, all persons intending to become candidates at a primary convention for any elective office to be filled at the next ensuing November election shall file with the county clerk for all precinct, county and district offices solely within a county, and with the Secretary of State for all other offices. Deadline for filing is March 31 at 5 p.m. As of this date, only one candidate has filed for office Dr. with the County Clerk. Francis M. Jensen, 80, who died at his home in Richfield Sunday morning. Mr. Jensen was father of Delxira J. Nebeker of Nephi Mr. Jensen is survived by his widow, six sons and four daughters. He is also survived by 41 grand children and three New Babies . . . Mr. and Mrs. Paul Damron of Provo announce the birth of a son, David Paul, on March 2. 1964. Mrs. Damron is the former Miss Kathleen Jensen. Grandparents are Udell R. Jensen of Nephi and Mr. and Mrs Carl Damron of Hinckley. Times-New- s Gains Second Spof in Front Page Contest .The front page of the for February 27 has been chosen as second 'place winner in the Front page of the month competition for February. The monthly Judging Is Time-Ne- w conducted by faculty members of the Communications Department at the Brigham Young University. Over SO Utah weekly newspapers are analyzed each month. Winner are selected on the basis of their use of headline and text topography, the handling, and placement of stories, and Illustrations, and reproduction. Winner of this month's competition was The Magna Times. Telephone Company in Nephi, letired March 3 after 39 years and five months of service. Mr. Mathesons first telephone experience was with the Iron County Telephone Co. At the age of ten he was hired as a messenger, and at 16 he and then became a repaii-man- , continued his career as combination manager. The Iron County Telephone Co. became a part of the Mt. States Telephone Co. in 1923. He went to work for the new company as manager and held positions in Cedar City, and Kanab. He came to Nephi as manager in September, 1956. Mr. Matheson and his wife Erma were honored at a dinner at Nephi last Friday evening. Arthur Brown, District Plant Manager, commended Mr. Matheson for his outstanding service he has rendered over the past years for the Telephone Company.
