Worthington, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Worthington of Nephi, recently participated in the annual national convention of the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association. The convention was held in Detroit, Michigan. Worthington, who is director of audiology and vestibulan services at the Boys Town Institute for Communication Disorders in Children, was among 9,000 delegates to the four-da- y meeting. He heard re- ports on the latest developments on disor ders of human speech, language, and hearing. Some of the topics presented at the meeting were voice restoration by the use of windpipe puncture, the current treatment of stuttering, effects of drugs on the sound of the voice, communication of the aging, grammatic structure of Black child language, and the use of hearing aids and other services for the deaf and hard of hearing.
