Two hurt in wreck For Lorenzo John Brown, 71, of Moccasin, Arizona, the ride in his new car was a short one on Monday about three hours to be exact. Brown and his son, Stanley E. Brown, 45, of Hurricane, had just purchased the new $6,000 1979 Mercury Monarch at a Salt Lake City car dealer. They were southbound on just where the freeway ends. The camp will be held at the mouth of Pole Canyon. Dinner will be furnished by the ward and will begin at 7:30 p.m. Ward members should bring their own dishes. Martin-Mariett- Cor- a porations cement manufacturing plant west of Nephi, say company officials. The plant is scheduled to begin operation in March of 1982, says Ken Ware, project accountant. It will employ people, and will cost an estimated $85 million to build. The first heavy concrete pour, 425 yards, was conducted yesterday. Another concrete pour is scheduled for today or tomorrow. The general contractor is S&W 100-15- 0 Construction. Engineering and machinery is being handled to the Fuller Company of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. According to Jim Brady of Lock your car or lose that stereo, city police say Four car prowlings have been reported to the Nephi City police in the last week, says Police Chief Roy Manning. Car prowling is the term Mannlooking ing uses to describe through a persons car for valuables. The prowlings have occured from 9:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. In some of the cases, a vehicle wa3 parked close enough to a home that the burglars stirrings of the would-bawakened the residents of the home. They were treated for head cuts and arm lacerations, and were released. Funeral held Wednesday for Mrs. Taylor Louise Bailey Taylor, 53, of Levan, died June 21, 1980 at her home. Funeral services were held on Wednesday at the Levan LDS Ward chapel. Interment was at the Levan City Cemetery. Mrs. Taylor was born May 6, 1927 at Moroni to Russell and Ethel Story Bailey. She married James Warner Taylor on Jan. 26, 1952. The marriage was later solemnized at the Manti LDS Temple. He died in 1961. Mrs. Taylor served as the Levan Ward Relief Society president, as the Junior Sunday School coordinator, and as a teacher in many LDS auxiliary organiza- tions. Survivors are two daughters, Mary Louise Diamond of Spring-vill- e and Susan Taylor of Levan; four grandchildren; her mother; four brothers, Gayle R. Bailey of Salt Lake City, Earl W. Bailey of Bountiful, and Paul and Glen Bailey of Moroni; and two sisters, Pauline Rasmussen of Provo and Physical descriptions of burglars have been similar, and Manning and his department are now working on leads. Eight persons were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, two were arrested for public intoxication, and two were arrested for posession of marijuana. According to Sheriff Robert L. Painter, a used Honda XL70 motorcycle valued at approximately $400 was taken. Also taken were motorcycle helmets, motorcycle goggles, and gloves worth approximately $250. Officers estimate that the burglary happened close to midnight on Thursday. It was not reported until 6 p.m. on Friday. Sheriff Painter and Deputy Chad Bowles followed several "investigative leads and arrested two juvenile boys, 11 and 12 years of age, both of Nephi. The duo was referred to the juvenile court for prosecution, said Sheriff Painter. where five persons are employed. Four persons are now employed at the Nephi offices of the firm. jHS plans tutoring session for 'Class of 1981' Members of the Juab High School Class of 1 981 who did not pass their minimum competency tests in mathematics and English will get some help soon. The school will hold tutoring sessions each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, beginning Monday, June 30 and lasting until the beginning of school. The classes will begin at 8 a.m. and will end at 10 a.m. At the end of the summer school session, competency tests will be given to those wanting them.
