If you would like to submit your favorite recipe, please send it to: Cooks' Comer Times-New- mouth-waterin- one-ha- lf one-hal- three-fourth- s one-thir- d butter cup Pare apples and cut in eighths. Arrange in nine inch unbaked pie shell. f Sprinkle with cup sugar and cinnamon. Sift f remaining cup sugar with flour. Cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over apples. Bake in hot oven (450) ten minutes then 350 about 40 minutes or until apples are tender. If apples are not tart, I sprinkle lemon juice over the apples. one-hal- Grandma's Cinnamon Rolls (Submitted by DaNell Worwood) one yeast cake one cup sugar one egg one cup lard three cups milk, scalded and cooled Make sponge of yeast, sugar, and milk. Let rise. Add one tablespoon salt, shortening, and egg. Add enough flour to make a soft dough (maybe seven more cups). Let rise until double in bulk. Divide in two and roll out one quarter inch thick. Spread with melted butter or cream. Sprinkle with sugar, cinnamon, and raisins. Roll. Slice one inch thick. Place in greased pans. Let rise until very light. Bake at 350-37for about 15 minutes or until golden brown. While hot, glaze with powdered sugar icing. 5 20th Century hears alcoholic discuss AA Members of the Twentieth Century Club participated in an interesting and informative discussion on alcohol and drug abuse at the home of Mrs. Gayle Ludlow on January 19. The discussion was conducted by a member of Alcoholics Anonymous, who related incidents in her life and the problems resulting from her use of drugs and alcohol. The speaker stressed the need to educate children in the schools and homes con- cerning the damaging effect of alcohol and drugs. A member of Alanon, which is an organization for the families of alcoholics, spoke briefly on the need of the families of alcoholics to obtain help to cope with their problems.
