Nephi has a new photo shop this week following the opening of Kimos Kamera. The shop is located at 53 North Main in the office formerly occupied by the Harmon Law Office. Kimos Kamera stocks a full line of film and flashbulbs. They also stock photo mounts, Why not an agenda? tf ! Kimo Coray opens photo studio on Main Street and use the buildings for another educational program after the new schools are built, as has been done with the old Central School. Intelligent persons from the city and the county should be brought together to look over the site and formulate several plans for its use. Then when the plans have been presented to the people and have incorporated the peoples wishes, the Board of Education should place the suggestions on the ballot along with the bonding proposal so that the people can decide what they want to do with the land. he care to. The Times-New- s believes that the citizens of Nephi should become more involved with all phases of government. Publishing an agenda of meeting topics would help them to do so. . studio at 53 North Main. The grand opening of the studio is set for March TNPhoto Coray, proprietor of Kimos Kamera, shows some of the many types of film available at his new photo Kimo city-count- announced to its readers that power rates in Nephi City would be increased by 18 percent effective March 1. Since that time, we have talked with Councilman Leon Pex-to- n concerning this increase and based on the infor mation that he gave to us, we fell that the rate increase is justified. Nephi City residents have seen their power rates go up 47.5 percent since December of 1974. During that same period, however, the cost of the power that Nephi city buys for delivery to its residents has risen 72 percent. While we dont disagree with the rate increase, we do disagree with the way the increase was handled. When anything as important as the increase of power rates is discussed by the City Council, the citizens of Nephi should have the opportunity to be in on the meeting and let the council know their feelings. To this end perhaps the council and other city governments and the county government should publish an agenda of what will be discussed at their meetings so that John Doe citizen can attend should Fish and Wildlife Service for their personal use. The meeting is being sponsored by the US Fish and Wildlife Service and the Utah State University Extension A rodent control training meeting will be held tomorrow, Friday, Feb. 25 in the courtroom of the Juab County Courthouse in Nephi at 1:30 p.m. Bob Openheimer of Delta, a representative of the US Fish and Wildlife Service, will give training on the control of gophers, ground squirrels, mice and other rodents. Those who attend the training will be certified and eligible to purchase poison grain bait from the US old buildings, site? Two weeks ago the ' Rodent control meeting set Feb. 25 at courthouse . . . As you have read in todays Times-New- s, the of Education Board School District Juab recently building site in northeastern Nephi. bought a The board proposes to build a new $650,000 vocational building on the new site. The money for the vocational building is already here in the form of a grant from the US Economic Development Administration. The grant was made, however, to build the new vocational building on the present high school campus and the Board of Education is now seeking permission to build the facility on its recently purchased site. The site was also purchased as a home for the boards proposed new high school and middle school, and although the voters turned down the building of these schools at a recent bonding election, we feel that the schools must eventually be built. We recommend that the Board of Education press forward to get the voters approval for the erection of the new schools. We do not think, however, that the board can forget one very important problem in pressing for the building of the new schools. That question is: What will be done with the old school, the fairly new vocational building and the old Central School? There have been many suggestions as to what to do with the buildings and the site. Some have suggested that the older buildings be knocked down and that the land be sold to individuals or developers. Some have suggested that part of the site be used for a new city park. Others have suggested y that a new complex be built on part of the site. There are many other things that could be done with the site. We dont think, however, that the Board of Education can tell the people that the old building is mechanically, structurally, and educational inadequate in one breath and then turn around m Cameras Etc MAKES CB AFFORDABLE!
