The sessions were sponsored by Utah State University Extension and were held in Mona, Levan, and Nephi. The instruction was conducted by Dr. Von Jarrett, Extension Agricultural Engineer. In each community the program consisted of an evening of classroom instruction and discussion followed the next day by a workshop during which time the farmers tractors were tested on a dynamometer and instructions were given on minor adjustments to improve the efficiency of the tractors. The dynamometer on which the tractors were tested could indicate the horsepower output of the tractor. Following adjustments, the tractors were tested again to see how much the horsepower had increased. In each community, the adjustments on the tractors increased the horsepower on those tested by a total in excess of one hundred horsepower in each of the three communities.
