JUIUIUUJ seminary President Cowboys hit Lehi for Lehi Roundup The 36th annual Lehi Roundup is scheduled for June 24, 25 and 26. This is the third largest rodeo in the state, offers a purse of $4,000 plus entry fees, and annually draws some of the nations top cowboys in every event Sponsored by the Lehi Civic Improvement Association and produced by the Golden State Rodeo Company, this years show promises to be featuring tough, mean bucking stock and equally tough, mean cowboys. Lex Connelly, announcer for the National Finals Rodeo and also known for his coverage of ABCs Wide World of Sports, will be on hand to announce the events, keep the show moving, and play word games with the clowns. D.C. Cogbum his famous Basketball-playin- Har-la- m Dogs and g and his featured star, Minnie the Mule, will please the crowds with theior specialty acts. Also in the show will be Quail Dobbs and hid Yankee Doodle Dandy Car. Both of these famous rodeo clowns will change to their run-- Golfers from all over the state of Utah will be competing for a $2500 purse at the annual Canyon Hills Amateur Golf Tournament Saturday. The winner ol the meet will walk away with $250 for his efforts, according to course officials. nding champi hole course record holder Buck Brown from Salt Lake City will be on hand to defend his title some of Utahs best amateurs. Tee times for the golfers will be 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. The players will move around the course all at the same time, officials stated. Local favorites for the match include Mike Jones, Rod Painter and his brother Randy and Nelson Jones. All have won prizes before. Each evening at 8 p.m. in the Lehi Rodeo Arena, 1st North 500 West, the Grand Entry will be staged, featuring Lehi Rodeo Queen Becky Breitenbeker, Brigham City; with Cindy Fielding, m Syracuse; and Kathy Barker, Bountiful, attendants. Visiting riders will join local riders and contestants in this event. An outstanding salute to the nation's Bicentennial will be featured as an opening act this vear. In addition to the three professional Rodeo Cowboys Association rodeos, the Lehi Roundup will feature a stock parade on Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m.; and on Friday and Saturday evenings at 6 p.m., Lehi's famous Miniature Parade will be staged. As a prelude to the cele- bration, Lehi High School will hold a reunion for all former students and their partners at the high school on Wednesday evening, June 23.
