Miss Allen is a graduate of Brigham Young University in elementary education and is now employed at Brigham Young University. They were enroute to Idaho Falls to attend the funeral services for Ralph Christensen. On their way back to Tucson, they stopped overnight at the Winn home. Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Baxter of Salt Lake City were visitors one day last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Wilkey. Melva Openshaw of Provo was a visitor during the past week at the home of R. Ronald Jarrett. a BYU graduate in secondary education and is employed at Olympus Junior High school in Salt Lake City. He is also a member of the National Guard Engineers Company of Spring-ville- . An open house will honor the couple on the evening of their marriage at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Ostler, 3131 Mohawk Lane, Provo. They will further be honored at F'iler, Idaho on November 28. American Legion Auxiliary Jay Woodard gave a talk on patriotism at the meeting of the American Legion Auxiliary held on November 14 at the home of Myda Carter. Woodard defined patriotism as love, support, and defense of ones country. He said that we should understand the process of why things happen, and become a part of the system. He emphasized the importance of each citizens responsibility to be informed. He further cited the example of the youth of ancient Sparta who were taught from infancy to be patriots and how the attitudes of their parents toward the government are mirrored by those youth.
