I by REG Keeping busy with his position at First Security Banks Nephi office, as treasurer of the Nephi Lions Club, and during the summer months on the family farm near Salem is Paul Nelson, who with his attractive wife, Kathie, and their children Allison Kay and Hilarie are this weeks Times-New- s Family You Should Know." Mr. and Mrs. Nelson have been Nephites for the past two and a half years, ever since he was transferred to the Nephi First Security Bank office. Prior to coming to Nephi he spent some time at the Provo bank office, and in Duchesne and Roosevelt. Mr. Nelson is a native of Salem and graduated from Spanish Fork High School. He graduated from Weber State College with a B. S. degree in economics and a minor in marketing and shortly after his graduation joined the First Security Bank organization. Mr. Nelson fulfilled a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints in Texas, and has taught Sunday School classes in several of the wards where he has lived. His teaching ability was also put to work when he was a discussion leader in an Elders quorum for some time. Active in the Nephi Lions Club, he is currently serving as club treasurer. He and Mrs. Nelson attended the Lions Club banquet in Salt Lake City last week, and attended the state Lions convention at Heber City. They are making plans to attend the next state convention in St. George. As a hobby, Mr. Nelson enjoys mid-wint- . is one of Mrs. Nelsons many paintings. TNPhoto woodworking. He has attended a couple of adult education woodworking classes, and he and Mrs. Nelson have done a marvelous job of recovering furniture. Mrs. Nelson is the former Kathie Gerritsen of Ogden. She and Paul met at Weber State while they were both students there. She also attended Brigham Young University, and the University of Grenoble, France, where she saw the Olympics in 1968. She graduated from Weber State College with a degree in Art Education. Following her graduation she taught school in Kearns. Also active in the LDS church, Mrs. Nelson served for some time in an MIA presidency, taught in the Primary and Sunday School, and was Relief Society and Primary librarian. Her ability as an artist is seen in the beautiful painting above the fireplace in the living room of the familys home at 175 East Fourth North. She does sewing for herself and her two daughters. She also does knitting, and home-mad- e pizza every Friday is the order of the house- The children of the family are Allison Kay, 4, and Hilaree, 2. hold. Allison manages to watch Sesame Street on TV from time to time and goes to junior Sunday School and junior Primary. She was a dance student under Beverlee Pexton last summer. Allison is proud of the doll which Santa Claus brought her, and keeps her parents very busy reading her stories from every book in the house. Hilaree will be two years old in April, and has long redish hair. She brushes her teeth 12 times a day according to Mrs. Nelson, and enjoys doing everything her big sister does. Both Allison and Hilaree made friends very easily during our visit the other evening. The Nelson family enjoys canyon picnics, gardening, and going to the family farm together during the long summer evenings and on weekends. It was a pleasure to meet them in their home the other evening, and we hope that you will agree with us that they are A Family You Should Know.
