Traditionally, this is the time of the year when families gather to feast upon turkey and dressing. Traditionally, it is a time when we extend thanks for the bounteous harvest, for the necessities of life, and especially for families and friends. Thanksgiving in recent years has become the opening of the Christmas shopping season with parades and visits by the red-cla- d gentleman with the long white beard. Santas early visits give the children another opportunity to convey their wants for Christmas, and to be sure that Mom and Dad are listening in, so they too will understand Johnnys desires. Whether youre going to spend Thanksgiving at home or over the river and through the woods at Grandmas house, we hope that it will be a pleasant occasion for you and your family, and that should it be that you must travel, that safety for you and your family will be uppermost in your thoughts. Happy Thanksgiving! reg It is attributed to Shakespeare, but it sounds more like today: He who steals my purse steals trash, but he better keep his hands off my sack of groceries. reg A former Nephi man, Dr. Mark Wamer, son of Mr. and Mrs. James A.
