The Community Pride project started last fall when Pam Jackson, Anna Marie Motes, Betty Motes, and Dona Jones attended a Community Pride conference in Salt Lake City. The conference was sponsored by the Utah State University Extension Service and Standard Oil Company of California. , Through workshop sessions and tours, ideas for community improvement projects were presented. The participants were then encouraged to return to their counties, decide on a community improvement project, and write a proposal for funds. The Juab County delegation made contact with Larry Harmon of the City Council and presented a plan for helping the city obtain trash cans to assist with litter clean up. Harmon contacted Curtis Albertson of NRP, Inc., who agreed to do 4-- 4-- 4-- H 4-- H nate some drums for use as trash cans. The grant money will be used for buying equip- ment for painting the cans and meeting other expenses.
