We had three days to campaign in seven counties, so you see this working Congressman doesnt have the time for leisurely campaigning and listening enjoyed by my opponent. We enjoyed the friendship and hospitality of many friends in Juab County and regret we have such a little time for campaigning. However, I have traveled to Southern Utah working on Congressional duties 10 times in the past eight months. The biggest issue of the campaign for Southern Utah appears to be the environment, and whether our public lands should be used in responsible manner for basic industry and enjoyment of a majority of the people, or set aside for few. As a member of the House Committee on Interior and Tnsular Affairs, I know of the rising tide of pressure from the politicians of the environmental groups, and they are conducting a nation-wid- e campaign to defeat me and to raise money for my opponent. Thev have chosen to attack me as one (paid political Remote Control Special! It can go either way and money spent here is a target area.
