Thursday Afternoon, Evening Ladles of Juab County interested in home sewing will have an opportunity to be brought up to date on the newest methods at a SewShow workshop to be held at the Richfield High School auditorium Thursday, March 9. There will be sessions at 1 and 7 p.m. Speakers will Include Elizabeth Mann, educational representative for Unique Zipper Company; Marilyn Reed, Talon fashion consultant, and Helen Thackery, Utah State University consumer education specialist. Miss Mann will teach basic sewing for the new contemporary fabrics, leather, vinyl, fake fur, and velvet Included in her demonstration will be Instructions on how to choose the right pattern and right equipment Each person in attendance will be given a booklet on Unique Invisible zippers and a special pamphlet on working with contemporary fabrics. Marilyn Reed will discuss sewing with new fabrics and notions. Her lecture is designed to stimulate Interest and provide information on sewing for the beginner as well as the advanced seamstress. Topics she will cover include showl-imodel wardrobe, with each of a garment illustrating at least one special construction technique; and accessories which are easy and inexpensive that one can make in her home. Helen Thackery writes a weekly column for the Salt Lake Tribune on consumer education. She is a native of Utah and has a masters degree in textiles and clothing,. Her talk will deal with the consumer and the textile scene. A demonstration showing on how to fit pants will be given by Carol Williams, Wayne County Extension Agent Also to be presented at the Sew Show will be a shoe fashion show and a clothing fashion show. The clothing will be modeled by local women under the direction of county Home Economists. The public is invited, according to Juab County Extension Home Agent Donna Sparks. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Nephi First-SecoWard Chapel.
