Nephi, Juab County, Utah 84648, Thursday, June 3, Services Held For Former Nephi Man Following funeral services in Van Nuys, Caliofmia, graveside services were conducted Wednesday at the Vine Bluff cemetery for William LeRoy Black, 79, brother of Harry E. Black of Nephi. Mr. Black died May 30 at Van Nuys following a long illness. Bom at Nephi May 6, 1892, he was a son of James Robert and Mary Emily He married Florence Sperry Black. Nickell of Idaho Falls June 3, 1919, the marriage later being solemnized at the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. He resided at Idaho Falls throughout the majority of his life, where he was a farmer and also operated a lumber mill. Mrs. Mathews Is the former Lynne Adele Latimer, whose parents are Arthur and Margaret Wright Latimer of Pocatello. Grandparents of Little 100,000 are also Mr. and Mrs. James W. Every citizen of our community should be very proud of the fine way which the cemeteries are taken care of. We had occasion to visit the Payson cemetery on Memorial day, and it, too, is a place of beauty. and on MemorOnly thing wrong ial day with the crowded condition is the only time when it is noticable is the width of the roads but nothing can be done about this situation now. Like many communities, no one had the vision of the future to behold the amount of traffic which would ultimately be on these roads, and we should be very grateful that each driver was careful and cautious and that as far as we know, no fenders were even bent on the holiday. Public particlpaton is being Invited to assist In defining the best uses to be made of these pubic lands. The meeting will begin at 8 p.m. at the Delta High School. Warren Brough, Fillmore District Manager for the Bureau of Land Management, said the House Range Unit consists of 1,572,009 acres of public land in western Millard and Juab Counties. Millard Sounty, Juab County, southern Utah and the nationn eeds the forage, wildlife, recreation, soils, water and natural beauty of this land Mr. Brough stated. Under the law creating the multiple use classification, lands so listed may be used for livestock, grazing, fish and wildlife habitat, industrial development, mining, occupancy, outdoor recreation, timber, watershed protection, wilderness preservation and the preservation of public values. Voguetfes Enjoy Evening of Music af Jarrett Residence The voguettes met at tne nome of Mrs. Vona Jarrett on May 27. The topic for the evening was on music, and Mrs. Marilyn May introduced her guests, Mrs. Margene Ostler and Mrs. Jeannie Wilkey. The evening was a program of songs of the past. We were advised to Cherish your memories. God gave us memories to take out and look out on a summer evening. The program was as follows: Summer Time, a poem; When the Circus Comes to Town; The Voice in the Old Village Choir, a poem; Grandmas Kitchen; Alice Blue Gown; In My Merry Oldsmobile; Tip Toe Through the Tulips; When You were Sweet Sixteen; Dear Little Boy of Mine; and a poem, When I Grow to Old to Dream. Mr. and Mrs. Milo Cazier received word recently of the birth of their 20th great grandchild, bom May 22 to Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Ewell of Colorado Springs, Coloy rado. Mr. Ewell is home on a leave from Vietnam. 30-da- LaMar Greenhalgh, Accident Victim Funeral services were conducted at Green River Tuesday for Franklin LaMar Greenhalgh, 33, whose body was recovered late last week from the Colorado River. Mr. Greenhalgh and two companions lost their lives in a boating accident on the river on November 15. 1970. Graveside services were also conducted at the Vine Bluff cemetery Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Greenhalgh was bom at Nephi October 16, 1937, a son of Franklin P. and Sadie Howard Greenhalgh. He married Loessa Shepherd, and they later were divorced. He married Violet Ruth Anderson Woolsey March 27, 1965. Survivors are his widow of Green River, Utah; children: Carrie and Lee Greenhalgh, Green River; Timothy, Lisa, Anna Lee, Cindy and Clint Greenhalgh of ElCajon, California; step children: Timothy Don and Debra Ann Woolsey of Green River; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Franklin P. Greenhalgh of Nephi; and three sisters: Mrs. Roy (Glenna) Holt of Laramie, Wyoming; Mrs. Neil (Marilyn) Garrett and Mrs. Gary (Marjory) Stephenson, both of Nephi. Mr. Greenhalgh was a graduate of Juab High School, and had worked as a mechanic for the past seven years at Green River, and prior to that time had worked in other locations. Positive identification was made by a friend, Ted Wilson, and a sister, Marilyn Garrett by means of a leather belt engraved with his name and given to him by his sister, 'Glenna, and also by a hunting knife found on the body. The body was found 52 miles below the point where the boat capsized in November. Stake Banquet Saturday Ward and Stake YWMIA officers have tickets available for the Stake Mothers and Daughters banquet to be held on Saturday, June 5 at 7 p.m. at the Juab Stake House. Mothers and daughters - of all ages are invited and urged to attend. Scouts ol the Nephi Second Ward recently mowed the grass in the northwest corner of the Nephi City cemetery, and placed small crosses as markers on the 20 or so graves In this area. Graves located hers are of transdent Individuals whose identity is either un? known, or whose relatives were not located at time of the individuals death.
