Show Nephi, Juab County, Utah 84648 tTJjc Cimco-ftcUi- Thursday, December 17, 1970 G Page Three Go, My Son, and Get An Education... " Juab by Lawrence Gardner Area Representative, Indian Student Placement Program, Unified Social Services of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints East Juab County has seen a slight decrease in the number of placement families this school year. Graduation, transfer of families to other areas, have cut into our numbers of last year. Overall growth of the program has brought the numbers to approximately 5,000. A large share of the 523 Lamanite students at the Brigham Young University are graduates of this program. As we plan for the events of the yean the pageant, youth conferences, dinners, bowling, snow parties, along with the standard experiences within the Church and community, we see much development among our Lamanite students. Some of this growth is noted in the following achievements of the various students: A second class scout award, a merit badge, a class president, a member of the school play cast, participant in little league football, 2M minute talks in Sunday School, Primary graduation requirements all completed, a roadshow the obpart, and then we remember jective of all the combined effort of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints, families and foster families . . . that they might blossom as a rose . . . and though we can count the seeds in an apple, we cannot count the apples in a seed. We also remember . . that inasmuch as ye have done it unto the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me in the words of the Savior. -- Surely those foster families who with their Lamanite children are praying together, working together, learning together, and playing together shall become stronger and happier families.
