Purpose of the project was to let servicemen know that they are remembered by friends and fellow citizens at home and are honored for their service for their country. Kiwanis Club members were reminded this week that we have nearly half a hundred young men from east Juab County And that serving in the armed forces. overseas in are of these danger many zones. And that friends should do what they ca nto let these men know that they are not forgotten that they are remembered and appreciated and honored at home. Kiwanians therefore resolved that we should send a letter and some gift or token of affection and regard to each service man from east Juab County and assure them of our good wisses and of our prayers for their welfare and safety at Christmas and in the coming year. It is our custom to begin our Kiwanis with feeling and meetings by singing meaning: My country, tis of thee, Sweet land of liberty, Of thee I sing; Land where my fathers died. Land of the pilgrims pride, 'From every mountain Let freedom ring. side, Our father's God, to Thee, Author of liberty, ' " To Thee we sing. Long may our land be bright. We urge our service men to continue to have faith in America and faith in humanity and faith in God. We are sending to you a book which we hope will be a source of inspiration and strength to you. We pray for your safety and welfare, and that the day will soon came when you can return to your homes wit hthe knowledge that you have done your duty in the cause of humanity and justice and freedom. KIWANIS CLUB OF NEPHI be-lif- es Schools Plan Christmas Play, Musicals The annual sixth grade operetta will be presented Thursday, December 18 at 7:30 pm. This year"s production. Davys Star by Edith Quick and James Fluckey is a Christmas story. It is hoped by school officials that this entertainment will add to the Christmas spirit and help everyone to enjoy and have a Merry Christmas. There will be no charge for admission. An invitation has been issued by school officials and Allen Smith, head of the music department, for all to attend two special Christmas programs to be presented at the Juab High School next week. On Monday evening, December 15, the Juab High School music department will present a special Christmas program. This will begin at 7:30 p.m., and there will be no admission charge. Band and chorus selections will feature the evening. On Wednesday evening, Decband and Chorus ember 17, members of the Junior High School will present a special Christmas musical. The evening entertainment also will begin at 7:30 p.m. and no admission charge will be made. Mr. Smith will direct the groups at each performance. A (Hilda) Hansen, all of Wells, Nevada and Mrs. Cleon (Marion) Menunott Nephi.
