One gentleman reported that 33 cars some unmoved for at least five years litter our streets. We havent counted them, but we take his word for it. We hope all 33 are dragged to the trash heap before another paper, or we might start them as by location. Surely theres enough teeth in the ordinances of our fair city to get rid of this mess! If not, perhaps we should employ immediate means to get the necessary teeth In the books. Halsey spines crumble. Goshen Under the sponsorship of the Nephi Lions Club, the new Goshen lions Club was formed Friday, April 18, with 20 Goshen men as charter members of the club. Charter officers elected at this meeting to serve until July 1, 1970 were President Clive Nelson, and secretary-treasurLarry Beck. J. Ripley, special representative of Lions International. Services Held for Father of Nepfil Man Friends and relatives were in Sigurd Wednesday for the funeral services for George W. Nebeker, 90, father oof Thad M. Nebeker of Nephi. Mr. Nebeker died Sunday following a long illness. In addition to Thad M. Nebeker of Nephi, survivors are his widow, Emily Mlllett Nebeker of Sigurd, and one daughter, Mrs. Cecil (Gwen) King of nine grandchildren Richfield; and two great grandchildren. The convention will be held at the Nebo Stake House, 780 W. Third South in Payson from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday April 26. Representatives of the several federated clubs are to attend, and newly elected officers for the 1969-7- 0 Rick Don Olsen Junior High the To Display Achievements The annual Junior High Achievement Night program will be presented in the high school auditorium on Friday, April 25 at 8 p.m. The junior high school student council is presenting a completely new program this year. They felt that the activity and extra curicular programs are most vital to the success of the school and are not too well known. All are invited to join with school bethem as they re-aginning, homecoming, hiallow-eeChristmas, Valentines day and spring. Recognition for achlevemnt In study areas will be given by faculty members. Roscoe Garrett has announced two Important meetings for Sunday. . The Priesthood Leadership meeting will be held at 2 p.m., at the Stake House. All ward and stake priesthood leaders are encouraged to attend. At 3:15 p.m. the monthly quorum meeting of the High Priests will be conducted, also at the chapel of the stake house.. The 15 minutes later than previously time has been set to allow additional time in the departments of the leadership meeting. 12 western states. The local group has entered two teams this year. The teams became eligible to enter by winning the regional contest the counties of comprising Wasatch, Utah and Juab in 1967 and 1968. The local group has won the contest the past three years and also won first place In the land portion of the first State land and crops contest held in Logan last spring. Information and entry blanks for the 1969 Ute Stampede Queens contest are now available and may be obtained from Leo Osborne of the Stampede Committee. All entry, blanks must be turned In by May 15, Mr. Osborne stated. The annual contest for the honor positions in the Ute Stampede will be conducted at the Juab County Fairgrounds at 6 p.m. on May 17, 1969. Contestants must be between ages oi 17 and 24 as of July 1, 1969 and be legal residents of East Juab County. They will be judged on personality, appearance and horsemanship. Inasmuch as the Ute Stampede Association will furnish western attire for public ap- perances of the royalty, contestants will not be judged on their attire during the contest. All contestants must waive liability and must agree to conform to all contest rules and The horsemanship judging will be according regulations. to a set pattern. Anderson, 88, who died at a Tooele rest home on April 17. Servic- es were conducted at Provo on Monday for her daughter, Anna A. Connelly, 68, who died on the same day at a Provo hospital. Mrs. Anderson Is survived by three sons and two daughters: Clarence, Salt Lake City; Lewis and FSdon, Garden City, Kan- -' sas; Mrs. Lucille Moody, Chula Vista, Calfomia and Mrs. Edna Turner, Tooele. Mrs. Connelly is survived by her husband, Ramsey D. Connelly, five sons and two daughters, and the brothers and sisters mentioned above. Surviving are his parents of Nephi, three brothers, Ronnie, Rusty and Randy, all of Nephi; his grandparents, Don E. Olsen and Mrs. Aim G. Allred, Salt Lake City, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon J. Francom, American Fork; great grandparents: Mr. and Mrs. H. Ray FVancom and Volume 60, Number Seven members of the Mt. Nebo FFA chapter will leave Saturday, April 26 to attend and compete in the International Land Judging Contest to be held in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma April 30 and May 1. The group also will spend one day in a special school prior to the contest. The contest is sponsored by WKY Radio and TV of Oklahoma, and the Oklahoma Soil Conservation Service provides the technical personnel needed. Nebo chapter placed second In the western region, composed of First-Secon- , 1969 Team in National Contest Nephi Child Nephi Royalty 84110 Juab County, Utah 84648, Thursday, April 24, jcrvices Set Saturday for Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Nephi d Ward chapel for Rick Don Olsen, year old son of Ron E. and Ann Francom Olsen. The services will be directed by Bishop Milton T. Harmon of the Nephi First Ward. The child drowned in a Nephi irrigation ditch Tuesday at about noon. He apparently fell into the ditch on ninth north street near fourth east, and was carried down the ditch. The body was recovered 45 minutes to an hour later near the Merl McPherson farm north on highway 91, several blocks away, according to Nephi City Police Chief Jack Brough who had been called when the boy was missed. His parents were in Salt Lake City at the time, having rushed another child. Rusty, to a Salt Lake City hospital with head injuries he had received in an accident at his fathers shop. The election was held at the annual convention of the party. Other officers named include Janet Greenhalgh, vice chairwoman; Jerry Bosh, secretary; Pearl Wilson, treasurer; Natalie Orme, state committeewo-ma- n and Claude R. Lomax, state committeeman. Delegates chosen to attend the state Republican convention on May 17 were A. Dean Shaw, Janet Greenhalgh, Pearl Wilson, Jerry Bosh, Golden R. Calvin Neilsen, Mangelson, Robert Thomas and Don Eyre. Robert Thomas Is retiring county chairman, and Alice C. Belli st on Is retiring treasurer of the organization.
