Funeral services were conducted Monday at Springville for Lucy Salisbury Boswell, 55, wife of Bishop Joseph Boswell of Springville and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elijah Salisbury of Nephi. Mrs. Boswell died June 15 of complications following surgery. Mrs. Boswell was bom at Nephi August 24, 1911, daughter of Elijah and Mary Fowkes Salisbury. She was married to Joseph Boswell August 11, 1934 at the Manti Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints. A graduate of the Juab LDS Seminary, and of the Ogden High School, she also was a licensed beautician and operated Lucys Beauty Shop at Springville. Mrs. Boswell had served as a MIA teacher and as stake dance director, and a Relief Society Librarian and had been a Stake missionary. The two men, Elder Melvin Perry of Provo, Utah and Elder Reid Hall of Nephi, Utah will spend two years on their own time and own money serving the area of Tennessee, Kentucky and West Virginia. The two college students said it was .their intention to visit people of this area and to leave a message of truth, to declare the devine Son ship of Jesus Christ, that he is the Son of God, that there has been a restoration of truth, and this, His Church, has again been established on earth for the good and salvation of all mankind. They said they planned to start a Sunday School here in the next few weeka Although they plan on being in the Gallatin area for two or three months, they are sublect to transfer within the three-stat- e area at any time. They have secured an apartment on the Scottsville Pike. The two young men will travel for two years to tell the people about the church, then return to college to resume their studies. Installation of the new officers took place at a luncheon held recently at Mickelsons Cafe. Mrs. A. V. Gadd, who has headed the Council for the past year conducted the meeting, and prayer was given by Mrs. W. W. Stephenson. In addition to Mrs. Beckstead, other officers of the Council are: first vice president, Mrs. Leo O. Osborne of the Nautilus Literary; second rice president, Mrs. Reese Painter of the Ladies Literary League; recording secretary, Mrs. Fred Hedberg of the 29th Century Club; treasurer, Mrs. Earl Spendlove, Delphic; reporter, Mrs. Miles A. Anderson of the Beta Literary; historian and parliamentarian, Mrs. A. V. Gadd of the Ladies Literary Lit-a-Lu- re Club. The City employees were taken off their regular duties to drain the pool of 154,000 gallons of treated and heated water; after which every inch of the pool and deck was swept four times with brooms, then refilling the pool, chemically treating it phis the heating of the water. The pool attendants lost their wages, the City lost three days of receipts from approximately 400 admissions, plus chemicals and gas to reheat the water in the pool. The Nephi City Municipal Pool is a wonderful recreational facility for our city. Over 200 children and adults participated the opening day. The original cost of toe pool was $56,000 of which over $9000 was donated by citizens and organizations on a voluntary contribution basis. If toe glass was scattered accidently, toe incident will be charged off as an unfortunate operational expence. If It was done with intent to do bodily harm, it becomes a real problem to be dealt with differently. The expenses to operate the pool for toe past five years exceed toe receipts by several thousands of dollars of Nephi citizens money.
