He sang some songs which he had written and one day a Capitol scout came round and Sonny sang his songs for him, hoping he Inwould accept the songs stead, he asked Sonny to record them himself . . . In the next few years, Sonny recorded maiyr songs for Capitol and some were hits but not like Young Love which Sonny described as heart singing a combination of country and western with a pop blues beat.
