In fourth place was the Nephi Fire Department team, with three wins and seven losses, while the Mona team with two and eight, and the Lions with one and nine records completed the standings. The class will meet in the Boys Gymnasium at the Juab High School, at 7:30 p.m. The class will be held each Wednesday evening for six weeks. Part of each night will be spent working with the "Exer-O-Genfor body conditioning and the balance of the time will be spent with basketball and other activities. A fee of $2.50 is required. The class will be conducted by Dennis Hansen. Gamble of Colorado Springs, Colorado announce the engagement of their daughter, Carol Louise Gamble, to Robert Cowan Lake, son of Mr. and Mrs. Vem S. Lake (Nelda Cowan) of Seattle, Washington. The bride elect was an honor graduate of Spring Woods School in Houston, Texas and is now a sociology major. Mr. Lake is a graduate of Roosevelt High School and attended Columbia Basin College in Pasco, Washington, where he won nations honor as center on the All American Football team. He is now a member of the Brigham Young University varsity football squad. The couple have chosen May 26 for their manriage in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Members of the Kiwanis Club of Nephi, together with Ward Bishops will be calling upon every home in the East Juab County area within the coming week soliciting support for one of the outstanding motion pictures on Scouting ever filmed. The picture is Follow Me, Boys scheduled for early in March at the Venice Theatre. Through special arrangement between Richard Foote, mana-e- r of the Theatre, and the Kiwanis Club, one performance of the film will be dedicated to the Boy Scouts of Juab District, and the net proceeds of the one nights showing will go assist the ETAOINNNNN to the Juab District Scout fund. Thad Nebeker, Chairman of the Scouting Finance Committee, recently stated that approximately $600.00 remains to be raised to complete payment of the assessment by the Utah National Parks Council. The Kiwanis Club has assumed this project in an effort to go the second mile in behalf of the Boy Scouting program. The Scout performance of the noted film is set for 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 9. It is suggested by Stake, District, and Club officials, as well as the Ward Bishoprics, that every family in the Stake attend this show, first to get a greater understanding of Scouting, and secondly, to assist in the responsibilities of the district in completion of the Scout fund payment. Husband of Former Nephi Lady Dies Word has been received in Nephi of the recent death of Carl o. Scannell, husband of the Mr. former Salome Brown. Scannel died at Long Beach, California where he ha dresid-e- d for the past several years. Mr. Scannel resided for many e, years at Lynndyl, and at Nevada where he was employed by Union Pacific.
