Girls Invited to Furniture Dealers Study in Summer Attend Carpet Show Home Economics Class Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Chapman, proprietors of Chapman Furniture Company, have returned home following a four day study tour of Lees Carpet Mills in the East. Mr. and Mrs. Chapman were among a nationally selected group of Lees retailers who at. tended the comprehensive in. vitational seminary. The four day study followed every step Of carpet production from receipt of raw fiber stock to the finished carpet. The coordinator must have a Bachelor' degree, training in sociology, and five or more years In related fields. Mr. Gardner stated that the beginning salary will be $835 per month. Assistant coordinator applicant should have had experience working with people and should be able, under the d:rection of the Coordinator, to implement programs in the respective communities. Classes will begin at 9 am. and be held each week day morning for a period of six weeks. The first week students will attend for lVi hours and be out at 10:30 a.m. The remaining five weeks will be 2 hour sessions and students will be out at 11:30 a.m. activities and readiness programs will be conducted to help insure a positive and pleasant experience for students as they enter the first grade. Kiwanis Honors Seniors Graduating young men of the Juab High School were honored by the Kiwanis Club of Nephi at a meeting held on Wed- nesday evening at Mickelsons. The banquet honoring the J. H. S. boy graduates is an annual affair of the club. Gary Peterson, president of the club, conducted the meeting and a talk by President R. Ros-co- e Garrett was the outstanding feature of the evening. President Garrett told the Seniors to give your best in whatever field you choose to enter. He urged them to remember Christ in their lives, and to remember that all of us do care about each one of them. Rey Decker, senior class advisor introduced the members of the senior class. Program selections included a piano solo by Jim Gadd, a vocal duet by Claudia Parkin and Emily Sue Sperry, and a vocal solo by Michael Cowan. Phipps was mother of Mrs. Norman (Lois) Greenhalgh of Nephi. Mrs. Phipps was bom Sept. 2, 1910, at Spanish Fork, the daughter of Charles A. and Emma Warner Evans. Married to John Curtis Phipps. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons and three daughters, 19 grandchildren. tive matters. Mr. Fackrell died of natural cause; Saturday noon at the Kenneoott Copper smelter. Mr. Fackrell was born at Mountain View, Wyoming. He married Della Peterson at Fillmore. A veteran of World War n. he also was a member of the LD8 Church. |
