Elder Powell is a Son of Mr. Single Copy 10c and Mrs. Eugene Powell of Levan and served with military forces in the general area of the mission prior to being called as a missionary. Nephi, Juab County, Utah 84648, Thursday, November School to Issue New Type Report Card Farm Count A new report card will be issued by Juab High School on Friday, November 13, according to an announcement by Principal M. Clark Newell. Begins in Area Enumerators for the 1964 Census of Agriculture will start calling on farmers and ranchers of Juab County this week. County Agent Lynn announced today. Enumerators are local men and women hired temporarily by the Bureau of the Census, an agency of the U. S. Department of Commerce, to contact the commercial farms and the ranches in the areas where the enumerators live. The purpose of the visits is to collect census questionaires that farmers in the county have been filling but since the forms were mailed out several days Farmers and ranchers ago. thus were allowed a period of time to consult their 1964 business records and, to fill out the forms before the enumerators called. The purpose of the questionaire is to furnish needed, up to date information on U. S. agricultural production and resources. During the visits, enumerators also will review the forms and assist farmers in completing the answers to any questions that the farmers were unable to answer. This means that each student will have a subject report for each and every class they are enrolled in. Students will be bringing home six or seven reports, depending on the number of regular high school classes they are enrolled in. The subject report will show the number of absences for school activity, medical appointments, or drivers test. These are legal excuses for students, although such absences may effect the quality of the work the student has been able to do. Soper as District Scout Executive. , Mr. Soper arrived in Nephi last week after graduating from the National Training School of the Boy Scouts of America, Schiff Scout Reservation, near Mandham, New Jersey. He will serve, advise and support the volunteer leaders of the Boy Scout program in the Juab, Millard, Deseret, Moroni, North and South Sanpete districts. A native of Pennsylvania, Mr. Soper moved to Denver and Provo after joining the LDS Church at Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He has attended the Colorado School of Mines and Brigham Young University, graduating from the latter school this year. After serving in the Northern Mexican Mis1959 to 1961, he married Jaycene E. Noakes of Centerville, at the Logan LDS Temple. Mrs. Soper also is a graduate of BYU. They have one son, Stanley Edward. Prior to his appointment to the professional service of the Boy Scouts, Mr. Soper had participated in many scout and Aaronic Priesthood activities. He served four years as a staff member of Camp Rock Enon, Winchester, Virginia before moving to Provo, where he was a priesthood advisor, MIA counselor, and member of the troop and post committees of his ward. He has been a merit badge couselor and local leader of the Order of the Arrow, the Boy Scout honorary camping fraternity.
