Noted During Recent Tour Thirty - five Juab County farmers observed conservation practices which are being carried out in this county to conserve soil and water, and convert cropland to permanent pasture or other uses during the recent conservation tour. Tlit first stop on the tour was at the Blackett Evan arm near Nephi where the value received from pasture management and rotation was shown The conversion to pasture on this farm is being done under the Cropland Conversion program. An interesting point made by Earl McPherson on the Nephi Irrigation Company ditch lining project was that before this ditch was lined, it took three hours for the water to reach his farm, and now, after completion of the ditch lining, it takes five minutes, and with 1 savings in water of 50 per cent.
