But something IS being done about it at Utah State University. The University is conducting comprehensive studies of Utahs climate, financed by a Kennecott grant, seeking four basic goals in the conservation of vital resources: . Assisting in the development of water resources in Utah. 2. Expanding present understanding of the reaction of plants to such conditions as temperature, wind, humidity and radiation. 3. Achieving these goals would benefit all phases of agriculture and our entire state as well. The Universitys past accomplishments can be used to forecast the future results of the present pro- ject. Through Kennecott grants, Utah State University research projects have produced important benefits for sheepmen, cattlemen, poultrymen and alfalfa producers. Grants to Utah State University, as well as to other colleges and universities, are just one facet of Kennecotts program of participation in a wide range of community activities.
