I especially want to thank the of liters for the good work on several important projects. The big job and most important was that of achieving the superior rating for the chapter. It is a national to rating and required much work raise it from the previous standard rating which the chapter held. Another start in the right direction was the planning and carrying out of a summer educational tour. There were only 14 boys and the advisor on the tour last summer but the interest at the present time indicates more boys will be going this summer. Perhaps the job requiring more work and the one receiving more controversy was the one of putting the school letter J" on the hill north east of Nephi. It required many hours of planning and labor to complete the project. A number of summer mornings were spent by the boys eager to do their share before they had to go to work on other jobs at 8 a.m. the The Beta Literary Club met recently at the home of Mrs. Fred Morgan, with President Blanche Club collect Pexton conducting. was read by Mrs. Sam Hayes and Mrs. Earl Warner led the group in a Thanksgiving song. Nephi Teacher Attends Speech, Hearing Meet The annual convention of the Western Speech Association was held during the Thanksgiving week end in Salt Lake City with the University of Utah as host. Meetings were held on the campus of the University and at the Hotel Utah. Eminent authorities in the various fields of speech education were guest speakers. Jane Jepson, Juab School District Speech - Hearing Therapist attended the sessions on Speech correction. Some subjects discussed were: Organic speech disorders, understanding the child with a speech problem, stuttering, and new methods of detecting and children. helping On Saturday afternoon, followa coning two days of meetings, to varducted tour took delegates ious points of historical interest in Salt Lake City and also to view the facilities for speech and hearing therapy at such places as the Primary Childrens hospital, the Shriners Crippled Childrens hospital, and the University of Utah. Facilities at the Primary Children's hospital are truly excellent as the speech unit has just moved into a new suite of rooms, Mrs. Jepson reported. Utah citizens can be proud of the quality of services provided for speech and hearing correction but many more facilities and therapists are needed throughout the state, it was pointed out at the convention. Many of Utahs school districts still do not provide this service for their children. Juab School Disrict is to be congratulated for being one of the few districts in the state to provide such a program. hard-of-heari- d, SPEEDWAY PORTABLE POWER TOOLS MIDGET DRILL inch REGULAR DRILL i4 H.Q5 inch with y, DRILL 3 8 inch Capacity w 15.95 Geared Chuck Ro-mai- with geared 22.50 Chuck HEAVY DUTY DRILL 31.50 Vi-in- ch Capacity 3.1 Amp JIG SAW Cuts 45" 22.50 n; CHRISTMAS SPECIALS 1 Deluxe NORGE DRYER 40 gallon, and 52- - gallon ELECTIC WATER HEATERS 1 Stokermatic WATER HEATER USED SPARKS OIL HEATER PLUMBING AND BUILDERS SUPPLY 1 4ID) 44 West Center St.f Nephi Phone 306 ruifoT) ml GIVE A PRACTICAL AND APPRECIATED GIFT--- A PAIR OF SHOES-forworkor- play Easier!
