November 29, 1924 Dear Friends of the N. H. S. A Missionary's work is to tell the people thinge they don't know and the things they know but I have never been instructed as to what to tell people who know they know, therefore, I am quite at Ioks as what to say. I can bear my testimony though, (I had to learn to do that the first Sunday I was here) and I can say in all truthfulness that I am glad I am a Latter Day Saint missionary and furthermore confess that I am trying to be a student, but that (taking Btudent in its broader meaning) is an achievement which so far, I have not been able to attain. The person who ask me to write a letter for the school paper must have had a sense of humor because they said, "We are going to have a column in our paper devoted to interesting letters and we want yours first." It is a thing to write a letter and another thing to write an interesting one. Now permit me to make a suggestion. There is a certain N. H. S. gradu ate working in the Eastern States who has really had some wonderful experiences mine can not compare with them in excitement. I suggest that he be given the privilege of writing you a real letter. For have him tell you about the time when he opened an address on the street corner in this manner: "I come before you without body, parts or passions to preach the gocpel, etc." Or the time when he vividly the Salt Lake Temple and ended by saying dramatically, "On the top most pinnicale stands with outstretched wings the statue of the angel Moroni," again he said Well have him tell you because I'm sure he would tell you all the details. And now, good bye dear friends the ministers house, perfectly safe you see its his turn to have a gospel sermon preached to him, anyway girls, he's a nice minister even if he is a Seventh Day Adventist. Thanks for this opportunity you have given me of saying hello to you all and though a little early for the holiday season I am wishing you N. H. Oh, its The Freshman turned their Frolic this year into a grand Carnival Ball. The gymnasium was artisticly decorated in the class colors, blue and white. The party commenced at 9 o'clock and continued until eleven thirty. During the dance, balloons, whistles and caps were sold, and everybody was given confetti and serpentine to throw. At eleven o'clock refreshments were served which consisted of pop corn balls and sticks of candy carried out in the class colors. It was, without a doubt the best school dance so far this season. The moon shines down on a picturesque scene in old Japan, in the garden of Kokcmo's Tea House at Tokyo. Gay Japanese lanterns hang amid the pretty cherry blossoms and a soft light comes from the Tea House. Sounds of laughter and excited talking come from from the oriental musicians that direction, also the clinkety-dink- s and the tap tap of the tiny Japanese drum. Then it quietens some, what. From underneath the latticed entrance, comes twelve gaily bedecked geishas. Their dainty steps and quaint quick actions cause much attraction. They are lie flowers of Kokcmo's garden. In their arms they each carry a cushion upon which they quickly drop in a semi-circl- e around one thir leader. "Oh love is like a dainty flower." The geishas sway rytham-aticall- y and sing very softly, each humming her own dream. Then with fluttering of fans and tapping of tinyf feet, the geishas return to their work within the Tea House. Cherry Blossom sits very quietly after they have left her, thinking of the handsome young American, she has but recently met. As she sits thus, she hears a low whistle. Stealing out from beneath the cherry tries, we see two lovers, looking quietly back of them, but also very absorbed in themselves. They come to one of the tiny tables, beneath the trees and play cards with loving glances and words passing between them as do the cards. So it is that two lovely romances, woven together with delicacy sweet music and an intert sting plot form the base of the opera "Miss Cherry Plossom."
