She loved nature, she had bird and butterfly and friends. She was very kind to all animals. She was a hard worker and taught her children the value of work. She was kind to everyone, and all were welcome in her home. She will be greatly missed. One of the great grand- daughters said it best: Myrtle Amelia Nelson PERKINS Grandma would touch your hand and it would warm your heart. Myrtle is survived by her Chloe Ann e (Kenny) Shumway, (Reed) Hurst, Tony (Jane) Perkins, Tim (Iva Bonnie Loo) Perkins, (George) Petty, Susie (Bill) Boland, Trudy (Doug) Latham, Lelia (Dennis) Jones and Corey Perkins. 33 grandchildren, 72 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers Vance, Rey, Marion, Bob, Jay and Don Nelson and sisters Ardyth, Ida, Norma, Rilla and Milly. She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence, one grandchild, one great-granchild, brother Grant children: Gay-len- Funeral services were held March 17, 1998 in the Blanding North LDS chapel for Myrtle Perkins. Myrtle passed away March 13, 1998 after a courageous battle against cancer. Myrtle was born January 5, 1913 in Thatcher, Arizona to Hyrum Nelson and Chloe Palmer Nelson. She was the oldest of 13 children. Myrtle moved to Blanding during her teenage years. She lived with her Uncle Ed and Aunt Ida Nielson. While in Blanding, Myrtle met Clarence Bayles Perkins. They were married October 24, 1932 in Their Cortez, Colorado. solemwas later marriage nized in the Mesa Arizona LDS Temple on April 12, 1963. They are the parents of nine children. Myrtle served as a pri- mary teacher for many years. Her life was devoted to her husband, children She and grandchildren. was shy, quiet, and a very independent little lady. She had many talents. She was an excellent cook. She did beautiful handwork. The thing she will be most remembered for was her She yard and garden.
