Askins knew there would be technical problems the first few weeks, but he wanted advertisers, stations and listeners to not lose faith in him and to have something to listen to and judge. Thursdays find Askins and Keims in Pagosa Springs, doing their show from The Spons Page liar & Grill. Its a big giveaway night, with prizes for trivia contests and for a game they call Sports Jeopardy." Business in Pagosa is relatively slow this time of year, so Sports Page promotions Bob Glazier isnt concerned the hasnt been packed Thursday nights. In this business you cant expect any new promotion to just take off right off the bat, Glazier savs. Were hoping its going to continue to grow. Hes been told by new owners of KRQS-F(106.3), Pagosa Springs, that will link to Skynet Sports beginning m May. Having more people in town and callers -- r having a local station broadcasting the show should help attract customers to The Sports Page, he believes. They re doing a good job," he says of Askins and Keirns. Its a professional show. Thursday is the one night, at least so far, the pair have proof the vibrations they send are finding an audience. Callers attempt to win prizes in the trivia tests. Otherwise, phone calls from listen-ba- r ers have been few. Several have called and voiced their opinions to Stacy Gidney, the producer, but she couldnt convince them to go on the air. Only 4 percent of the actual listen- ing audience ever picks up the phone to make a call, says Joe Primrose, the gener-the- v al manager of Roberts Radios stations, It takes a while before people jump on broadcasts Si aaic inis one tXTBAOBDinAJTT AUSIC1AHS or Tnt nm dottt-ais- PPOAISt TO mms s' IPorcBcB X!fcDirIlso3icDipo Friday & Saturday Evenings 3s3Ct Arts & for r4 Seatinj Crafts Booths Food & THcbct -- (800) xs5S jrf Beveraqe Concessions r information fall: 943-340- Admission is FREE to the public.
