Dear Editor, I am supportive of passing the bond at the election to be held May 6, and encourage all county residents to vote their conscience. I have visited the K-- 8 school at Navajo Mountain on three different occasions. Monticello Elementary and Navajo Mountain have exchanged students and shared science expertise. I have stayed overnight in the dormitory. These are wonderful people from good families! They are residents of San Juan County and deserve to have a high school in their com- munity. Monticello desperately needs a gym. For nine years, I have transported my five children to practice at the strangest times and locations imaginable. The current elementary school multipurpose room is seriously inadequate. Monticello residents will be given two ballots May 6. The first is to vote yes or no on the bond. (Please vote yes!) At its core, the election has nothing to do with these issues. Taken at face value, the election simply becomes a question of how we will finance construction of a new high school at Navajo Mountain.
