Hale announced after his victory that he will ask the Clinton administration to pardon former tribal presi- dent Peter MacDonald. MacDonald is serving a 14 year sentence on a corruption conviction. Navajo voters in Arizona and New Mexico also re- jected the introduction of casino-typ- e gambling on the reservation. Aneth clean-u- p November 18 is declared clean-u- p day by the Aneth Chapter of the Navajo Nation. Twenty miles of roads will be cleaned, including Highway 262 from Aneth to the Colorado border, and Highway 41 from the Colorado border to Tec Nos Pos junction.
