Show THE SAN JUAN RECORD Wednesday May 25, 1994 Page 8 March of Dimes Walk America 1994 The March of Dimes annual Walk America 1994 held in San Juan County on April 23 netted donations of $2,095.74 according to Chairpersons Dorothy Cannon and Janice Dyer. The Walk, held in Monti-cellhad 38 participating o, businesses, with 19 walkers representing Blanding, Bluff and Montezuma Creek area, and 44 partici- pants from Monticello. Top donation raisers this year are Sara Laws of Blanding and the team of Tanner Nielsen and Ryan Torres of Monticello. March of Dimes Chairpersons Cannon and Dyer express gratitude to all the businesses, helpers, and walkers for their participation, as well as appreciation to the San Juan County resi- dents for their financial Fishing report Reservoir Blanding -- donations. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) culmination under the direction of Principal Tim Taylor. Graduates are fifth grade students in classes taught by Joe Barton, Dee Hoagland, and Diane Tracy. The graduates presented skits titled, Ways To Say No". Finalists of the D.A.R.E. essay contest are Nicole Byrnes and Nathan Jack, with Brady Ramsay the overall winner. Ranger Jim Braggs presented a certificate to each graduate. Jayne Frost, Sandra Asbury, Denise Arthur, Shirley Gaines, Ada Jones, Jeffrey Lowe, Ben Black, Marilyn Palmer, Billina Badback, Kim Burt, Susan Dyer, Collette Randall, Linda Brandt, Andrea Lee, and Lynn Laws. Blanding No. 4 was stocked with 2,100 catchable rainbow trout on April 18. Blanding No. 3 was stocked recently with 2,000 pansized trout. During the week of May 16, 2,000 rainbow trout were stocked. Recapture Reservoir -- The reservoir was stocked d last month with 600 d albino and 600 one-poun- two-poun- rainbow trout. Fair to good fishing has been reported. La Sal Mountain lakes -Dons and Hidden lakes are accessible. A truck load of 1,000 catchable rainbow trout was scheduled for each lake before Memorial Day. Kens Lake - Fishing has been fair to good. Anglers are using salmon eggs and In April, the lake received 500 rainbow trout from the Egan Spin-a-Lure- s. 2-l- b. The program consists of classroom lessons that teach children facts about alcohol, drugs, violence, and gangs. It gives them practical skills needed to resist unwanted peer pressure, avoidance techniques, and ways to build and maintain self esteem.
