McPherson will receive an award of merit at a recognition banquet for his project Learning of the People : Older Navajo Women Speak. The slidelecture presentation features inter- views with older Navajo women. The fall issue of the Utah Historical Quarterly also will feature an article by McPherson entitled Canyons, Cows and Conflict: A Native American History of Montezuma Canyon.
