The clouds floated in fields of baby blue and pale turquoise with patches of that particular blue Ive seen only in our Four Corners skies, a blue like the flash of a blue birds wing. As I neared the Dolores County line on my left, I could see the rolling sweep of the country side, a jewel hued tapestry. I have to remind myself that I really am seeing patches of new growth washed by a recent shower and splotches of freshly plowed earth. The magic of the scene was, I Doris Valle have here some notes scribbled on an old envelope while I was driving from I Monticello to Cortez last week. I cant decipher them very well but I remember that I was high on beauty. Water ballet will be offered for four weeks beginning July 13. Classes will be held at 8 a.m. Monday through Friday, and the fee is $12 for each session. two-wee- k two-wee- k classes are scheduled for Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at 8 p.m. The fee is $18 for a pass. Adult open swim will be Swim-er-ciz- e 12-tick- et Monday, and Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Daily admission to the pool is 75 cents for kids, $1 for students, and $1.50 for adults. A family season pass costs $60. Individual season passes cost $25. Register at the pool or the county recreation office. James A. Meyer, son of Steve and Bonnie Meyer of Blanding, was honored as one of the outstanding students in the auto mechanics department at Utah Technical College, Orem campus, at their annual achievement awards banquet on May 13. James parents attended the awards banquet with him. Cindi Lou Suttlemyre, a Mac Pherson's junior at Monticello High School, was elected Regional Representative at the recent State Student Council Convention in Salt Lake City. Her responsibilities as re- gional representative will include the planning and hosting of a regional convention for southern Utah high schools. She also will assist with plans for the 1988 state convention. A Lyton High School student was elected to assist Cindi with her duties.
