The tourney is scheduled for March 20 and 21 at the San Juan High gymnasium. Its time to begin the process of formulating recommenda- g tions for the fall deer hunts and range rides are the first step in this process. The annual rides provide an opportunity for interested sportsmen to assist wildlife biologists and land managers in collecting information necessary to make recommendations on big game seasons. Local representatives from the Division of Wildlife Re- sources, BLM, and Forest Service will be on hand to look at how the deer fared during the winter and the impact they had on the winter range. To adequately cover and assess the deer winter ranges, the more people helping, the better the information collected. Range rides for the Blue Mountain and Elk Ridge deer herd units are scheduled as follows: Kuipers attempts a two-A- ll pointer during the Bluff Elementary Stars vs staff roundball encounter, in which the youngsters proved Bluff Principal Al Alvin Reiner photo victorious.
