Ken and Jolene Bailey had all of their children and grand- Rock-a-tho- by Andrea Livingston The varsity and JV cheerleaders at Monticello High School on January 16-held a rock-a-thon for 24 children home last week. They came to attend the funeral services in Blanding for Jolenes and Shirley Redd's mother, Grace Shumway. Shirley also had two of her children come home. Her son, Reagan, flew in from Den ver and her daughter, Cindy, drove down from her home in northern Utah. Her other daughter, Carla who lives in Nevada, was unable to come because her children are ill. Jolene and Shirleys brothers, Keith and Gary, along with their sister, Shannon and Francine also came home for the services. I, too, was there and can attest to the fact that when that many Shumways and their families get its quite a crowd. together, And though n 17 hours to raise money for uniform s. Over 150 students and 75 parents contributed. There were also many businesses who helped in the effort: Monticello Chamber of Commerce, San Juan Record, Mike Young Chevrolet, and KUTA each donated $24 ($1 per hour.)
