She married Dale Bradshaw Maughan on July 9, 1943, in the Logan Temple of the Church of Christ of Latter-da- y Jesus Saints. She was a member of the Monticello LDS Second Ward, serving in many positions. The Monticello Stake Relief Society is conducting a day of home making skill workshops on Neighborhood I Home Service II Professional Saturday, September 25 from 9 a.m. to noon. Participants will attend their one choice of the four classes. There will be a $2 registration Carpet Cleaning 10 per square foot fee. The public is welcome to attend. They had six children Blaine, Tex, Kay, Cleal, Theda and Betty Ann. Theda died in infancy the same night Betty Ann was born. Sylvester's occupations included farming and mining. He used his mining skills to help drive a tunnel through the Blue Mountain to bring additional water to Blanding. He was noted as an outstanding youth leader. He received the Silver Beaver from the Boy Scouts of America at the age of 32 and was recognized in 1968 by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints as a scouter for his 50 years of service to boys. He and Thora served as LDS missionaries in Alaska and Washington during 1956-5- and as tem- 7 workers at the Manti and Provo temples from 1959 to 1973. Services were held Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the south chapel of the Blanding Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints. Interment was in the Blanding cemetery. In addition x N. 1st.
