Freedom Academy is a program which helps students learn to better appreciate their country and its freedoms. During the week the students will hear speakers, learn to rappel, ride in helicopters and experience many unusual activities. Valynne Webb and Monica Black were chosen as alternates. B. Tracy was nominated for this award by Dave Stoddard, physics teacher and coach. She will appear in the United States Achieve ment Official Yearbook, published nationally. imews Martha Belinda is a willing worker. Not only does she do her housekeeping duties, she will help out wherever she is needed. TO: ' 12th GRADE She began work at San Juan Hospital in April 1979., Janean Holden, special education teacher at Monticello High School,, has recently beeninform-e- d of jthe publication of two of her manuscripts in national, professional magazines. A magna cum laude graduate from the University of Utah with a bachelor of arts degree in nursing. Holden later earned her secondary education certificate in Special Education - Learning Disfrom Weber State abilities College. Her first manuscript, entitled Nurses Are Teachers, Too, will be published in RN Magazine, a professional nursing journal. The second article, Losing Grip on My Neuroses or How Precision Teaching Changed My Life, will appear in The Journal of Precision Teaching. Holden was recently visited by members of the Utah Learning Resource Center who described her as a teacher's teacher because of her impressive success with applying the skills of precision teaching, a teaching format that supplements direct class-roo- m ' instruction.
