Machovec, a former Monticello resident presently has been ordered to make restitution in the amount of approximately $5,000 for damage to a J& B at Grain truck approximately 3 a.m. on December 2. Residents in south Monticello who reported the incident said it occurred during what they described as a tire squealing spree that resulted in traffic signs being knocked down at the triangle formed by hit-and-r- Highway street. this week, MonticeUo received a heavy snowfaU after several weeks of high temperature and no snow. Standard Uranium Corporation reported 96,440 tons of processed ore shipped through November 30, 1955. 30 Stolen truck recovered in Cortez A Blanding driU rig worker who left for his job on what he thought would be a routine day returned to his trailer home at 4 p.m. to find his 1977 Dodge pickup gone. Also missing were the two men who had been bunking with him for a period of only a few days. This was on Monday, January 12. San Juan schools offer ten A.M. breakfast Two months into a new break- fast program, Whitehorse High School in Montezuma Creek is experiencing success. The program, part of the San JuanSchool D istrict's School Lunch Program, is similar to the breakfast at Monticello High. Students are dismissed on a staggered basis at 10 a.m. to eat breakfast of bread, fruit, and milk. The program is voluntary and costs the same as school lunch. Those receiving reduced or free lunch are eligible for breakfast under the same terms. District Lunch Coordinator Norma Lance said the two 10 o clock breakfasts are the only two in the state. The district has before -- school breakfasts at Bluff, Mexican Hat, and Blanding. It appears that we have as many eating lunch as before even though we have the 10 o'clock breakfast, Lance notes. Teachers and faculty have noticed a calmer, less hyperactive atmosphere among students since the program began. Conduct in the lunch line has improved she said.
