Their son Kendall Black called on Friday from his home in Texas, which is Angle ton, south of Houston, that they must evacuate their home due to the hurricane on its way to that area. Mr. and Mrs. Jess Latham of Orem, Utah, visited Mrs.La-tham- 's sisters, Fern Simpson and Grace Shumway, recently along with other relatives and friends. The Lathams were on their way home from visiting their, son, Kay Seiber, who lives in Canada. They also visited their other children on their way home, son Phillip and family of Washington, D.C., and daughter Carol and family, who live in Idaho. The Lathams had received a gift of money from their children for Mothers Fathers Days and decided to use this gift to visit and their children. While here the visited two nieces and their families who live in Monticello, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Bailey and the Elmo Redds. The Lathams are Lathams former Monticello residents. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hammond, and their next door neighbors of 35 years, Gordon and Betty Lydell, recentcame to this area for a ly visit. It was the Lydells' first visit here. The Hammonds and Lydells have lived neighbors these many years with no fence between them, only a row of roses and a combined rock garden. The acted as guides Hammonds for their friends and landed in Lake Powell for a few days before coming to Bland -ing. It was delightful at the lake, although a bit warm. The travelers enjoyed Natural Bridges and other points of interest, marveled at our beautiful and spent with the Dtvar Shumways, enjoying a lovely dinner. Mrs. Hammond is a daughter of Grace Shumway and spent all the time she could with her mom. While here, Mrs. Hammond and Mrs. Lydell and several of their friends gathered at the Elk Eidge Cafe for a dinner and lots of delicious while their husbands visiting a enjoyed game of golf. The visitors spent one day country one day here beauty, brother Mrs. Hammond mer and Mrs.Neta Young, along with other members of his family. While here they went to Lake Powell for an overnight trip and to have fun. Also comlk ing on Saturday were sister Dorothy and husband, R.G. Knowland, and three girls, from San Francisco, California. While these folks are in Blanding they along with the other members will get together today, Thursday, at Blue Mountain for the annual family reunion of their parents, Neta and the late Ken-dal- Bill Young. Speakers in Fourth Ward on Sunday were Kendall Young and Dan Webb. Kendallk wife Gabriel sang a beautiI Am a Child ful solo, as of God," in French, was she raised in France. Kendall spoke and told of their experiences while he was serving as mission president in the 1960s on the island of Tahiti and surrounding area, which was most interesting. Dan Webb spoke about the recent week-lo- ng Boy Scout campout in the Blue Mountain area. Thirteen boys from Fourth Ward attended along, with boys and supervis- ors from other surrounding areas. Everyone there had a time, and they all gained a lot of valuable which will help them in their Scout ranks in the future. Truman K. Rigby received word on Friday evening that his father, Truman Rigby, Sr., of Montpelier, Idaho, had passed away that day. He had been in poor health for some time and he and his wife had recently returned from a trip to New York to see the famed Hill Cumorah pageant. This dias a dream he had had for a long time. Principal of Albert R. Lyman School, Truman left onSunday for Salt Lake to join other members of his family and go on to Montpelier to attend the funeral, which was being planned for today, Thursday, in and Ada's Idaho. On leaving the two couples vowed they would be back ere long to take in more of son Blake Michelle, who t i and his wife are living in will probably Salt Lake, to Idaho with their dad drive to attend the funeral. Bishop and Mrs. Tracy Redd and their nine children arrived here from Lancaster, California, on Saturday evening to spend a week visiting his mother, Mrs.The-ress- a Redd, and other members of his family .They spent some time visiting relatives and friends and in renewing old acquaintances as Tracy was raised here and attended our schools. While here. they were dined and feted at social functions and visited some of our spectacular sights and scenery here. Tracy is bishop of his ward in California and was bishop of his ward while living in Newport News, Virginia, several years ago. He always takes delight in back to San Juan. coming The family visited his wife's family in northern Utah before coming to Blanding. On Sunday, two of Tracy and Dorothy girls brought their violin and viola and played a duet, "Danny Boy," to their Uncle Doug Galbraith, who is seriously ill, which pleased him so much, TTiis is Dougfe favorite song. These girls can play several instruments very well. Their names are Susan and Debra Redd. Last weekend Bart and went to Venice Lyman Mesa, Arizona, to be at the naming and blessing of a new granddaughter. The wee miss was named Ida Libby Lyman and is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.Edward Lyman.
