After she leaves the hospital she expects to recuperate at the home of a sister by Florence Galbraith Nedra, who lives in Salt Lake A special Priesthood meet City. Nadine has a host of friends here in Blanding who ing talk will be broadcast over closed circuit radio from the LDS Tabernacle in Salt Lake Saturday evening at 7 p.m. in the North Chapel in Blanding for all Priesthood holders. The men and boys will meet in the North Chapel to hear the service and this will include Priesthood members from all six wards in Blanding Utah Stake. A similar gathering will be held churchwide throughout the world. Mothers and wives, don't forget to remind your men and boys to attend. The Utah Stake Special Interest group held its monthly meeting Sunday evening in the North Chapel at 7:30 p.m. The meeting was under the 2nd Ward, with Charles Sipe conducting. Elder Scott McDonald, who returned from a recently mission in Spain, showed his slides he took while over there and explained some of the interesting facts about Spain. Elder McDonald is a son of the Ken McDonalds. After a program the group went into the recreation hall for a buffet luncheon served by members of the 2nd ward Blanding Special Interest group. Mrs. Rowena Winters returned Saturday from an extended visit to Scottsdale, A -rizona,- While there she stayed with her daughter Jane and husband Bert Palmer and family. Several weeks ago she came to Granger, Utah, to help out at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Goldie Olsen, while Goldie underwent major surgery. The Olsens brought her home Friday evening. friends will be happy to have her home again after her absence in the warm Arizona sunshine. Several people of the Special Interest group from Monticello Stake came over to attend the Ro-wen- a's Special Interest group meeting here on Sunday evening. Mrs. Nadine Bayles was honored the middle of the week at a luncheon given by her coworkers in the MIA, along with her special friends. This luncheon was at 1 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Eve Lynn Perkins. Nadines mother and daughters - in - law were special guests and she received a beautiful gift at the luncheon. Mrs. Bayles, accompanied by her husband, Hanson Bayles and her mother, Mrs. Klea will be remembering her with their prayers and cards and letters. All of us here hope for a complete and speedy recovery. The Senior Citizens group met at the library in their lovely center for a potluck dinner Tuesday at 6 p.m. A program and games followed the dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Don Cowger were in charge of the food, and Mrs. Melba Black always does a super job bf arranging and decorating the dinner tables. A big thanks goes out to these fine people. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Hurst ieft here Wednesday for the Provo area to be with their daughter Darlene Humphries when she undergoes major surgery on Thursday. Darlene has been in poor health for some time. She, along with her husband Glen and daughter, live in the Provo area. It is hoped by her family and friends that 'this surgery will correct her problem and that she will soon be on the road to recovery. Meanwhile her family and friends will remember her in their prayers. Being baptized from White Mesa at the South Ward chapel were three little Lamanite Lorgirls: Shelia Denatsosie, Cant-see. raine Begay and Jolene Shelia is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. JackDenatsosie; Lorraines parents are Mr. and Mrs. Norman Begay, and Jolenes parents are Mr. and Jack Cantsee, all of Mrs. White Mesa. There were two girls from 4th Ward who were also baptized: Doriene Barfuss and Ad-e- le McDaniel. Doriene is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Barfuss, and Adele is a daughter of the Jay McDaniels. The Fourth Ward Priests Quorum with Blake Shumway conducting, had charge of the program before the baptism. These baptisms tookplacelast Saturday evening at 7 p.m. Bishop Richard Pincock and his counselors presided. the baptismal Following services on Saturday, Doriene s mother invited several of her little friends to their home for cupcakes and root beer and games. Doriene turned 8 on March 6, and her little friends brought gifts and enjoyed her beautiful birthday cake made by a friend. Miss LaWanda Richardson. Sunday the Barfusses enter- tained at a roast beef dinner following Fast Day meeting. Besides the family, guests were Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Lyman, Mr. and Mrs. Doug Galbraith, Miss Angela Winters, Miss Tammy Oliver and Miss LaWanda Richardson. After meeting on Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Jay McDaniel entertained at a family dinner honoring their daughter Adele, who was baptized on Saturday evening. All the members here in town of the McDaniel family gathered at their home for the lovely dinner, which numbered 15 people. Coming from Huntington, Utah, on Friday evening were Mr. and Mrs. Craig Monsen and Alan Whitaker, who is a friend of the Monsens. While here they were houseguests of the Jay McDaniels. Mrs. Monsen is the former Melanie McDaniel and a daughter of the Jay McDaniels. The 4th Ward Elders Quorum have had several projects going to raise funds for the missionary fund and one such activity is the Elders Quorum dinner being put on Wednesday of this week, March 28, at 6:30 p.m. in the South Cultural Hall. A movie was shown following the dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Harvey, daughter Christie Carroll and Kline Carroll and wife went to Manti on Thursdy and did temple work until Saturday evening, then returned home. Virginia Carroll,- daughter of Mrs. Christie Carroll, spent her spring vacation here from her nursing school in St. George, Utah. She is training to be s surgical nurse.
