'& 'if tif $ Hang glider tourney at Dead Horse San Juan and Grand Count officials and the city of Moab are expecting as many as 20,000 spectators during the Moab World Invitational Hang Gliding tournament which starts today, Thursday, at Dead Horse Point 10-d- ay State Park. Connie Moab, Caoutee, chairman of the tournament committee, said this week that the pace of planning and preparations for the expected influx of competitors and spec- tators has increased dram- atically. UTAH Vol . 61, No. 32 cents 15 B MMaMa SSESmSSSSESSKESZ County attorney and Bluff election Tuesday San Juan County voters will go to the polls for a primary election next Tuesday, with the only contest being a race for county attorney in the Democratic primary. Candidates in the contest for the county attorney post are the incumbent, F. Bennion Redd, and Bruce K. Halliday, both of Monticello. Polls at the 18 voting places throughout the county will open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. on Tuesday. An election to determine the question of dissolution of the city of Bluff will be held next Tuesday, September 12, in Bluff, the same day as the primary election throughout the county. The Bluff election was ered in July by District Judge ord- Boyd Bunnell. Voting will be held during the same hours as for the primary election. Judge Bunnell's order followed a hearing July 12 on a petition for the dissolution of the city of Bluff. The court at that time found that the petition for dissolution contained the signatures of more than 25 per cent of the registered voters of the municipality and ordered the September 12 election. The community of Bluff was incorporated as a town on July 6, 1976, by action of the San Juan County board of com- missioners. A petition bearing names of electors and over landowners of Bluff was presented with the request for 130 incorporation. A group of Bluff citizens subsequently filed a petition for dismcorporation, on February 28 of this year, charging several legal insufficiencies in the petition for incorporation. The town of Bluff on April 3 of this year filed a motion to dismiss the petition for dissolution, and after a hearing on the petition, the district court in July then set September 12 as the date for an election to settle the issue. San Juan County officials have said they will maintain two-wtraffic on the -Potash Shafer Trail during the tournament. The area isinSan Juan County.
