Over the weekend Mr. and Mrs. Orris Black had a visit from their children, Steve, friends here were glad to see her again. They live in Mur- FLORENCE ray, Utah. by Florence Galbraith Mr. and Mrs. John Christiansen of Logan, Utah, came over the weekend to visit her mother, Mrs. Eloise Mahon. Mrs. Christiansen is the former Sandy Mahon. She and her husband will both attend USU this winter in Logan. The Kendall Youngs and daughter Stephanie visited his mother, Mrs. Neta Young, here last weekend. Kendall recently moved his family from Logan to Salt Lake to make their home. Coming with him to visit were Mr. and Mrs. Jim Hacking and baby from Midvale. Jim is a son of Mrs. Gene Hacking. In sacrament meeting on August 28, the testimonial for Elder Bill Bayles was held in 4th Ward. Bill has been called to fill a mission, to Hong Kong and will leave soon for the language training school. Most of the members on both sides of the family came for the occasion. On August 28 a testimonial was held in B landing 6th Ward sacrament meeting for Elizabeth Guymon, who will serve a Scottish mission for her church. Entertaining Elizabeth prior to her departure were her brother Dennis and his wife Asneth Guymon at an open pit beef barbeque at their home. All of Elizabeth's immediate family were here for the occasion. Returning from the Pacific Northwest recently were Mr. and Mrs. Ray Benedict and children, who spent a delightful two weeks visiting both their parents. Mrs. Thressa Redd was made happy the past week when her son Tracy and wife Dorothy and six of their eight children arrived from Lancaster, California, for a two day visit. While here they visited the sights of San Juan and had several dinners in their honor. Mr. Redd is the bishop of their ward. On Saturday Mrs. Redd's son Craig came from Rifle, Colorado, to visit over the weekend. Craig is serving in the bishopric in Rifle. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wright have staying at their home from San Diego, California, a granddaughter Diane Krebbs and her husband and two sons. They expect to make their home here and are looking for a place to live. Mr. Krebbs is employed at Quality Ford Sales here. Mrs. Blanche Black and daughter Grace and husband spent the weekend here. Mrs. Black is a longtime Bland-in- g resident who moved to Salt Lake last winter after the death of her husband Justin. Her Mr. and Mrs. Kent Redd have returned from a short vacation in Salt Lake City. While there they visited their son Michael, who has employment there. The Redds son Russell is in Provo attending Trade Tech this fall and winter and has part time employment. While Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Hurst were in the Salt Lake -Orem area last week, Mrs. Hurst's mother and several of her brothers and sisters from Blanding. The Doug Galbraiths have returned from a 10 day visit in Salt Lake. Their son Doug, Jr., and family live in that area and also their daughter Lillian and family. Their son Bill and family came from San Pedro, California, to attend his wifes family reunion so they got to visit Bill and family also while there. Then on Saturday the Galbraiths attended the wedding of a granddaughter and the reception after at the Manor House before returning home the first of the week. Mr. and Mrs. Kim Langton and children have moved from the Scott Hurst apartments at 436 South 3rd West to the Prospector Motel which they will manage this winter. Mr. Langton teaches school in Bluff. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Barfuss went to Salt Lake the first of the week for a checkup for Mrs. Mc-Cu- ne The wee lad was office. Grandma and Grandpa Seely haven't received any granddaughters yet but havent given up hope. The new mother is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Grant Leavitt of Monticello. They have four girls and live in Washington, Utah, near St. George, where older son. Specials for Se Nelsons children are Mr. Mississippi were there and they had several Temple sessions at Provo together. Also this past weekend all of the Melvin Hurst children got together here for an outdoor party on Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Chris Woodard went to Provo last weekend for a physical check up for Chris. On Monday all their children came for a get together on Blue Mountain. Here they had a cookout with chicken and all the trimmings. Last week Bishop Grant Shumway came from Phoenix, Arizona, to do assessment work on his mines. While here he visited relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Nelson have gone to Greer, Arizona, to get his father Hyrum Nelson to bring him here to make his home with his children.
