First a campaign ralley was , ' held, with two history classes representing the two policical parties. Speeches were given by history students to represent each of the candidates from both parties. Demonstrations also took place during the rally. After the rally the whole student body voted just like the real election. The only thing different1 about our election was the outcome. The results from our election showed that our student body was for Republicans all the way, including President. As a" matter of fact, I don't think that President Carter is very well liked at our school. I got that impression from a survey that I took inw which 1 asked this question,-Hodo feel about you Jimmy Carter? town. A !' A girls voUeyball tournament took place last Tuesday at San Juan High School. The Aldon Hamblins ate building a new home in oorth Blanding. He is the new state director of the Edge of the jX tion division of UNDC. He and Hick Maiirord are doing the basement and a Hal Ken home will be moved on it. The new octagonal home near the Albert R. Lyman school is being built by the Steve Keeles. Gary Lee is helping Steve with construction. Another ambitious person is Dwight Laws who is building their family home on 1st South and 5th West. The Ray Vernons are also building a new home west of the Albert R. Lyman school. Mr. Vernon was recently appointed principal of the Mexican Hat School following the untimely death of Ross Haskie. Dick Frank did the basement and a pre -- built will be moved in shortly. Buddy Black has just purchased the Jeff Fox home. The Foxes are returning back to school. Palmer construction is also busy with many new projects, in north Blanding. The Boyd Laws home is nearly done and work on the Hamblin home is ff moving along well.
