The wee lad has an older sister, Maya. Grandma Eloise Mahon left immediately to go to Idaho to help out for a week or so. Grandpa Carl Mahon of Cedar City is tickled pink over his first grandson. The new arrival makes the 28th great- Record Juan grandchild for Mrs. Sarah Barton, who resides in Bland-ing. San Mr. and Mrs. Craig Shum-wa- y have a new baby girl born April 12th in Mesa, Arizona. She will be named Hilary. She has one brother and a sister. Grandpa and Grandma, Leland and Dora Shumway, went to The Arizona over the Easter weekend to get acquainted with the new PRIMARY CHILDRENS MEDICAL CENTER will conduct its first annual Childrens Fund campaign between April 26 and May 8. Hundreds of volunteers throughout Utah will be calling door-to-do- or seeking contributions which will enable the hospital to continue charity services. Medical Center has, since 1922, admitted children without regard to race, Childrens Primary or the religion ability to pay. The Penny Parade of the L. D.S, Church provided funds for charity services until this year. The Childrens Fund theme is Pennies by the Inch. Families will be asked to measure their total height and contribute one or more pennies per inch when they give. Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Helquist and family of the Provo area were here visiting his parents, the Ken Helquists, over the weekend. Travis Latham, son of the Doug Lathams, has graduated from Primary and will be ordained a deacon next Sunday. Speaking in the farewell tesin Blanding Fourth timony Ward on Sunday for Blake Rigby were Blakes father and mother, the Truman Rigbys, and Blake. The meeting was well attended by Blakes many friends. We wish him much success in his mission in the Ecuador territory. He will enter the missionary training school soon to learn the Spanish language prior to his iy departure. Craig Redd of Rifle, Colorado came over the Weekend in order to attend the Rigby He is Blakes testimonial. uncle and a son of Mrs. Theressa Redd. Word was received here last week of the death of Wesley years. He was Blanding resident. He was a son of the late Frank and Hattie Barton. Funeral services and burial were held in Moab last week. His wife. Fay, and a son and three daughters survive him as do several grandchildren and two sisters, Roma Paynor and Donna Bell, and one brother, Harold Barton. An item of several weeks ago we failed to include in this column is the death of Glen Holt, the father ofNeldon Holt. He was 67 years of age, and was a resident, of Joseph City, Arizona. He had been in ' poor health for some time and passed away from complications following pneumonia. One of his sons who was stationed in Germany was able to fly home for the services. Glen " Holt was well known in Blanding. Neldon and Jolene Holt attended his fathers services and there they met their daugh- ter, Terri, her husband and came for the funeral. While in Arizona the Holts attended the musical production who of Saturdays Warrior, which they really enjoyed. One of the newest residents of the nursing home here is Ernest 0. Biggs who has lived in Blanding, with his wife, Mary, since his retirement. They also lived here many years ago when he worked with our schools. Mr. Biggs suffered a stroke a few years ago and has been cared for by by his loving wife at his home until it became necessary for him to have professional nursing care. Among those going to Provo to attend the funeral of Marvin Laws on Tuesday were Mr. and Mrs. Leo Black and Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Laws. Mr. Laws and Mrs. Black are cousins of Marvins. Our sympathy goes out to the Laws family at this time. Mrs. Nora Nielson and Mrs. Rowena Winters hosted the Birthday Club at the Nielson home on Tuesday evening.
