Mrs. Louie Willis is recovering from successful eye surgery at the home of her daughter, Ruth Bloomfield, in Mesa, Arizona. She hopes to see her friends in San Juan County this summer. Several Court House employees attended a farewell luncheon for Louise Christensen who has terminated her work with County Recorder Arvilla Warren. Miss Christensen is on vacation in Sacramento, where she will visit her sister, Karen, and family. W. R. Bronson is quite ill in the San Juan Hospital. Friends are wishing him a speedy recovery. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Dalton were business visitors in Durango Monday. Friends of John Roring are pleased to hear that he is off the critical list and showing improvement. John is in the Holy Cross Hospital in Salt Lake, where he was transferred from the local hospital last week. Its good to have Jerry Randall back home after spending most of the winter in Mesa, Arizona. She and Harry visited their daughter, Ruth, in Florida earlier in the winter. Jim and Bert Black recently enjoyed a trip to Hawaii. They attended the Michelin Tire Convention at Honolulu for four and a half days. They flew ove r eight islands, landing on three, besides Oahu. There were over Fffeeser Sale Bluff Stuff 1,100 dealers with their wives, and some with their families. All of them stayed at the Sheraton Hotel. Bert said that some of the bonuses for the women were a shopping trip, a fashion show, and Rula lessons. A big luau, of course, was enjoyed by con- vention members. When we had our last evening of bingo in January, members of the Lion's Club in Montezuma Creek ran the event for us.
